Attorney General Bondi wants a letter of support from me. No way.

Attorney General Pam Bondi is reportedly hitting a rough spot with President Trump. So, Department of Justice employees have started reaching out to various conservative organizations seeking praise and support. One Department of Justice staffer reached out to me.

It’s not going to happen.

I received an email recently thanking the free market think tank I had been associated with for many years — but I haven’t been there for nearly two years. It invited the organization “to submit a letter of support recognizing the Attorney General’s work.” I can’t speak for the organization, but I can speak for me.

The letter cites several of what Department of Justice calls Bondi’s achievements. I agree with some. But the one that really caught my attention was the first one on the list: “Under the Attorney General’s leadership, the Department has made significant progress in restoring impartial justice by eliminating politicized prosecutions.”

To the contrary, “politicized prosecutions” have come to define this Department of Justice.
