Odd or Conflicting Research:

Some people get drunk without drinking due to their gut bacteria.
Longevity is in your genes. There’s not much you can do to change that.
Simple short bursts of activity can improve your health and longevity
Sitting too much is bad for your health.
Exercise later in life reduces Alzheimer’s by nearly half.
Intellectual hobbies, like reading and writing, can lower dementia risk by almost 40%.
Several cups of coffee a day may reduce dementia risk. But not if it’s decaf.
Patients sometimes diagnosed with Alzheimer’s don’t actually have it.

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.
