Saturday Links

Posted on October 26, 2024October 26, 2024 by John C. Goodman

In most developed countries, out-of-pocket-spending on health care as a percent of household income is higher than it is in the US.

Dr. Marty Makary on four health myths.

Study: Expanding access to weight loss drugs could prevent more than 40,000 deaths a year in the United States.

Researchers refuse to publish their own study showing that puberty blockers did not improve the mental health of children.

A secret shopper survey called the first 100 doctors on Anthem’s directory. Only seven out of the 100 actually accepted the insurance and would take new patients.

How often Nobel Prize winning economists have been wrong about national politics.

Kevin Virgil, who ran for Congress in Iowa 4th, Iowa’s most conservative District, is finishing a 1-minute and 40-second video today on Blue Cross POS from Anthem Blue Cross in Milwaukee. New Obamacare rates on a child are over $300 monthly with a MASSIVE $8,250 deductible. Allstate’s new Trumpcare has a ZERO deductible with a $86 monthly premium and a 3-year-rate lock. Anthem, the world’s third-largest insurance company, can’t compete and get caught with its pants down. Like Bart Simson sang, “First you’re stupid, then you’re dead!”

I picked Wisconsin because Allstate’s “Child Only” premium is lowest in Wisconsin at $86 monthly with a Zero Deductible! All the Blue Cross plans got caught unprepared by Allstate. Allstate doesn’t pay for pre-existing so we will strip the Blues of their healthy and leave them the sick. I know the Blue Cross HMO CEOs will whine, “This isn’t fair.” Evolution can be mean.

Only 7% of Anthem’s Physicians are real! Anthem is scamming Americans exactly like Centene, the world’s second-largest insurance company and largest in Obamacare and Medicaid. Centene has a RICO Act Class Action lawsuit for exactly the same reason: fraudulent Provider Networks. Centene is going down, but the nation’s press refuses to report on insurers’ Obamacare fraud.

If you run for President in 2028, you will want Kevin Virgil’s endorsement. I know Kevin very well because I’m his teacher. Kevin is West Point, CIA, and owns his own business. I think Rand Paul is in first place so far with us. I like how Rand Paul, at 28 years old, said, “Social Security is a Ponzi scheme.” Rand must learn to say “Tax-free PSA” (Personal Savings Account) to SAVE Social Security.

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.
