Two quick comments on Obamacare spending:
1. I have never liked the use of 10-year projections. The average reader unconsciously compares the 10-year total to annual spending and is alarmed. (which is of course the writer’s intention.)
The US government will spend at least $60 trillion in the next decade. $383 billion is well under 1%. Doesn’t make the spending wise, but it does make it not so dangerous.
2. How can a family making $599,000 get Obamacare?
If their family insurance premiium is $48,000 a year, that might trigger a subsidy.
There might be a state where the ACA premium is that high, 2 parents over 60, 4 kids under age 26, etc.
But what a ridiculous premium.
