Overdose deaths were up in 2021 and the fastest growing segment is teenagers. There were 108,000 overdose deaths in 2021, of which 71,000 were due to fentanyl or fentanyl-laced products. The reason fentanyl is so deadly is because as little as 2mg can be lethal. Fentanyl is 50 times as powerful as heroin and 100 times as powerful as morphine.
