Rochelle P. Walensky wins the Anthony Fauci Courage in Leadership Award.
Here are all the reasons she doesn’t deserve it.
The media is misreporting what the IRA act actually did.
How a Donald Trump presidency would change health care. (Included: Goodman Institute plan to revamp the Obamaacare exchanges.) Statnews
John, you said, “We have the most sophisticated risk-adjustment system in the whole world, in Medicare Advantage, and we should apply that same system to the Obamacare exchanges.” I find that statement quite ridiculous, but I felt it was important to repeat it. Soon, everyone will see just how uninformed your perspective truly is.
In Orlando, a 60-year-old couple with two children faces an annual cost of $60,000 for Obamacare in 2025. This plan comes with a significant $9,200 deductible and is offered through Florida’s only PPO.
In contrast, Save101*com provides a zero-deductible insurance option from the Free Market for just $9,876 per year, which includes a three-year rate lock. This family would save $50,124 annually by choosing the latter option.
John, it is easy to verify Obamacare rates for the only PPO in Florida for a 60-year-old couple and their two children. I reached out to you for assistance back in 1997 when I was enrolling 7-Eleven franchises in the U.S., and you replied, “My job is done; now you have to take action.” That felt like a lie, John. Every time FOX News featured an expert, it was you, yet no one seemed to learn anything, just like your ridiculous quote today.
In the McKinney School District in Dallas, teachers are charged $1,201 per month to add one child to their health insurance. The Trumpcare plan by Allstate offers a zero-deductible option for $101 per month, and MD Anderson Cancer Center is among the member hospitals. However, Blue Cross Medicare Advantage is not renewing MD Anderson’s contract. Additionally, Allstate’s zero-deductible plan includes a rate lock for three years.
You are completely out of touch, John. Let knowledgeable people speak, and keep quiet for the benefit of all Americans.
The Save101*com plan is interesting, that’s for sure.
I do not know how the typical hospital will react. Will they assess the hideous chargemaster rates for the patient’s hospital stay? In that event, a benefit of $4000 per day will not go very far.
If the insured has the gumption and staying power to go up against the hospital billing machine, they might try this plan.
Note that some doctors bill separately from the hospital — this plan might not have enough cash for those doctor charges.
Also this plan covers no pre-existing conditions. I expect that any claims will be underwitten very strictly.
