Why the new food stamp work requirements matter.
Republicans have been as bad as Democrat’s when it comes to federal regulations.
But here is an exception: A rich nonprofit hospital denies care to patients who don’t pay their bills. (NYT)

Thanks for the two postings about unpaid medical bills. Both were well-written.
Regarding the Texas hospitals:
– note that fact that most of the hospitals surveyed want nothing to do with hardball debt collection. They would rather take some small losses versus getting into the collection fray.
– I find it repulsive that unpaid medical debt should be increased by interest charges. Just my moral preference, I guess.
– I also wonder how the lawyers who work to collect medical debts can sleep at night. Takes all kinds….
Regarding the Allina collections in Minnesota….(where I live)…..
I visited an Allina clinic myself on May 15. My co-payment was $30.
I got an email and a text last week reminding me to pay up. Give it a break!!!
