Saturday Links

Posted on May 4, 2024May 4, 2024 by John C. Goodman

The opioid abuse epidemic happened under the watchful eyes of two government agencies expressly designed to prevent such problems: the FDA and the DEA.

Walmart’s original vision. (After watching the video, I think I know why they weren’t successful.)

Why is Biden delaying the ban on menthol cigarettes? My answer: He needs Black votes.

Yglesias: The left stands for equality vs. hierarchy.

Kling: au contraire — the leftist approach to government creates inequality that far exceeds the inequality produced by the market.

Biden is expanding Obamcare coverage to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients.

Sachin H. Jain, MD, MBA, told Matthew Holt that they just rebated $135 monthly of seniors’ Part B premium to California homeless people. Wow, what a genius. Plus, he didn’t say these people are easier to strip of costly medical procedures if they require expensive care. These are the perfect suckers for managed care. Plus, Sachin uses Deceptive Sales Practices by not informing sickos that the MAYO Clinic is not available because these deadly HMOs pay NOTHING to America’s good hospitals and doctors. In 2025, Medicare Advantage payments will drop from CMS during these high inflation times of Obama and Biden. Medicare Advantage benefits will diminish, and these old MA fools can’t get back on Medicare Sups because of medical underwriting. AARP’s Medicare Supplements and United Healthcare discriminate against sick old folks, yet they support GUARANTEED issues with the underage market on Obamacare, the darn two-faced nonprofit bozo.

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.
