Mark Pauly, et. al.: expensive brand name drugs are worth more than what we are paying for them.

Study: the biggest losers from the (Obamacare) Medicaid expansion: low-income children.

Should the homeless be forcibly moved to mental institutions?

More on Ivermectin.

A woke Hippocratic oath demonstrating that some of the worse political thinking in the modern era comes from doctors.

The article on treating the homeless was very interesting. The author implies that each homeless person needs a knowledgeable and sympathetic advocate, almost like an AA sponsor.

The advocates he has in mind can probably handle only a few homeless clients apiece. Not too many cities can find millions of dollars in their budgets to hire, let’s say, 300 advocates for each 1,000 persons who are homeless.

At the same time, one wonders if the huge expenditures to non-profits in a place like San Francisco would actually cover an advocate’s budget.

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.

John C. Goodman,
