This is from a report by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities:
- In a 2023 Commonwealth Fund survey, 37 percent of respondents enrolled in the marketplace or individual market reported that they or a family member delayed or skipped needed health care in the past 12 months because of cost.
- Seventy percent of respondents reported that they spent at least 10 percent — and 23 percent said they spent at least a quarter — of their monthly household budget on health care.
- In a recent KFF survey, 23 percent and 18 percent of Black and Hispanic enrollees in private insurance, respectively, reported having problems paying a medical bill, compared to 15 percent of white enrollees
However, the report contains:
- No understanding of why there is a race to the bottom in the exchanges
- No solutions other than spending more money and creating more perverse incentives.
- No awareness of a very similarly organized program which is incomparably better (Medicare Advantage).
Obamacare isn’t any better if you’re healthy.
