Why do Academic medical centers fail to succeed in value-based care?  My theory: they function more like universities than like real businesses.

  1. We have Dead Babies NOW! Will the good hospitals have to become cheap hospitals to compete with other cheap hospitals? Probably not, because when someone is sick and they have cash they want to come to the United States and go to the MAYO Clinic where they might save you. For 10 years, in an all-Fee For Service (FFS) environment, in the 1960’s Ames, Iowa my beautiful Mother was told, “It’s all in your head!” They pumped her full of antidepressants. Finally, my Father threw her in the car and drove a couple hours to the MAYO Clinic, voted the best Hospital in the World by BOTH Newsweek and US News and Special Report. In 2 hours Mom was stripped and in surgery where they performed multiple procedures on her.

    MDs are such jerks. Mrs. Vivek Ramaswamy, Apoorva, a surgeon at Ohio State University (OSU), told me last Christmas that Iowa City is a good hospital if Obamacare says NO to the MAYO in MN. In front of a crowd of people, I told her that Newsweek ranked the MAYO in MN as #1 in the world, Cleveland, Clinic as #2, Jacksonville MAYO #55, and the Scottsdale MAYO was #87. I told Mrs. Ramaswamy, as she sat in front of the Christmas tree trying to look like a 1st Lady, that NOT 1 Iowa hospital made the list of the TOP 250 Hospitals in the world! I told Vivek’s MD wife that in Iowa we understand that when the Government ELIMINATES Iowa’s cancerous children from using the MAYO Clinic the Government is killing Iowa children.

    I told MD Ramaswamy that the EXACT same thing is happening in Ohio with Obamacare! Not (1) Ohio Obamacare Plan will allow a sick child to use the Cleveland Clinic or any of the (3) MAYO Clinics in America, or MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Texas, which Chip Roy says is the BEST cancer hospital in the World! It’s easy to see, that Obamacare is killing children from “sea to shining sea” and we don’t have (1) Republican Presidential Candidate who has the balls to say, “The child killing has got to stop!” We know Vivek & Nikki Haley don’t care, and these (2) are looking for more prevention and transiency. That means they know NOTHING but they are pretending they do!

    Give everybody tax-free HSAs and money dedicated to medical illness will explode. Let Free and Open Markets tackle this problem instead of Government idiots who will just kill your grandchildren like they are doing now! The people deserve more choices, more options, more Freedom! Support Chip Roy’s Health Freedom Act of 2023! What would Popeye do in a tough spot like this?
