Wednesday Links

Posted on October 12, 2022October 11, 2022 by John C. Goodman

Ants outnumber humans by at least 2.5 million to 1.

IRS is set to approve Biden “rule change” to fix the Obamacare “family glitch,” by spending $45 billion without congressional approval and without hearing from any of the opponents of the change.

The Biden administration defends itself, by ignoring criticisms.

As prosecutor, Kamala Harris and her attorneys convicted more than 1,900 people for marijuana possession.

Are people eating too little salt?

The biggest problem with long term care: Medicaid.

I wanted to read the Brian Blase article, as he is a very good commenter….but I got through about 3 paragraphs before the Forbes paywall stopped me. It is not a cheap paywall either. Thanks for looking into this.

The Stephen Moses article on long term care is incomplete. First, I believe Mr Moses works for the LTC insurance industry. That is not a horrible sin but should be disclosed if true.
Second, the LTC insurance industry has shrunk in recent years, due to investment and underwriting problems. The industry wants healthy 50 year olds to apply for policies, which is fine but leaves the nation in a big fix for millions of older citizens,

I do not feel that we will ever have enough private insurance to solve this problem. Bernie Sanders was correct to include LTC coverage in his single payer proposals. He gets a lot of other things wrong, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. If we have to spend $300 billion more per year to help the elderly, that will not break us.

How many children will be lured onto Centene Obamacare plans that have been accused of fictitious medical provider lists and pay NOTHING when a sick child with cancer goes Out-Of-Network (OON) desperately trying to survive? Biden is killing some children with this illegal Executive Order. In Iowa the children will be sucked into Centene Medicaid if a family of 4 earns $85,000 or less. Medicaid and Obamacare, what a dangerous deadly scam for sick children.

My Radio advertising for the MSA in Medicare begins this week in EVERY state in America. I advertise: Obamacare HMOs usually pay NOTHING when a sick person goes out of network. In CONTRAST, Medicare MSA enrollees have the FREEDOM to use the doctors and hospitals of their choice, it’s federal law. PLUS, MSA enrollees receive THOUSANDS in their MSA at the bank on 1/1/23. PLUS, many save THOUSANDS more because they no longer need a Medicare Supplement. President Trump is leading the way with the MSA!

Imagine being 67 with cancer and stuck on a low-rent Blue Cross Medicare HMO that has declined you to go to the MAYO Clinic or MD Anderson Cancer Hospital. You got the BLUES, feeling bad, there is no hope…then you hear my TrumpMSA Ad and you realize…there is a GOD! Not one politician in America supports the MSA in Medicare on their website. The Nation’s FAKE News refuses to put the MSA to print, like always.

I have Mike Gallagher saying, “If the politicians and the press won’t tell you, I will. The best tax cut is NO taxes and, IT’S TIME FOR YOUR MSA at TrumpMSA.com

When I sold health insurance, I was exposed to Medicare MSA’s. Typically they put about $2000 into your MSA on Jan 1st, but the yearlong deductible is $5000 or something similar.
If you have assets and good health, this plan might be a clever way to beat the system.

The person in Ron’s account who is 67 and gets cancer is the absolute worst prospect for a Medicare MSA!

Bob, you can explain why a sick cancer patient who has a skinny provider network and can’t go to the best cancer hospitals would hate to have the FREEDOM to use any doctor and hospital is a bad idea. Are you worried about the deductible Bob? The public is so lucky you quit selling health insurance Bob. I ran the largest health insurance agency for TIME Insurance, America’s oldest health insurance company, in more states than any competitor. I enrolled the USA’s 1st MSA in 1996. What have you done Bob?

The MSA became the HSA in 2004 for people under 65. Now there are 32 million HSAs with $100 billion in assets so I really started something. Starting this week I’m advertising the MSA in Medicare in every state. What have you done Bob?

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.
