Headline I wish hadn’t seen: New York City will pay homeowners up to $395,00 to build an extra dwelling in their garage or basement to help ease the housing shortage.
Gene Steuerle’s NYT piece on how much seniors get from the government’s elderly entitlement programs is no longer behind a paywall. Fascinating graphs.
Good to compare the average individual annual premium for “Original Medicare” in 2024 will be nearly $14,500 or $$29,000 per couple, per year.
That does not include the annual premium seniors must pay directly out of their own pockets to purchase a Medicare Supplement policy. (Which as highly advisable because Original Medicare by itself is not adequate insurance for other that routine medical care,)
40% of children are from single-parent families. Even married couples will have single parent family coverage because each spouse is covered at their jobs. $24,000 a year for employer-based family insurance where half of all families are single-parent families. Sounds really expensive for worthless insurance that is lost if the primary insured becomes too sick to work.
Overpriced dangerous Obamacare is only $600 a month in most states for a 30-year-old mother and child. As an employee the premiums are $2,000 a month or 3 times more!! Devon has NEVER suggested that employer-based insurance is double the cost of Obamacare! I guess Devon gets paid to look the other way and NEVER discuss Blue Cross. The AMA closed down the MSA in Medicare in 35 states this December. YOU guys NEVER discussed Medicare’s MSA. Now that the MSA in Medicare is now gone you distractors can discuss it again.
Americans for Prosperity was tricked into wanting to tax the tax-free HSA exactly like everybody here. Nobody here even discusses that employer-based insurance just terminates the insurance of cancerous employees. Some cheap worthless healthcare economists right? Why do you guys get paid?
