Regarding Uwe Reinhardt’s piece, I can’t believe anyone still believes that one party is better than the other on deficit spending. There seems to be a sort of Moore’s law in place, where each successive administration sees a doubling of the national debt. This trend could probably continue for a long time into the future, if measured in nominal dollars.
