Wednesday Links

Kaiser does a deep dive into doctors billing for email.

Of eight states that have not recovered job losses for Covid, seven are blue.

Joe Biden’s budget: like the original (2020) budget, this one would lower output and worker wages. Also the $400,000 threshold (below which no taxes) is not indexed—so eventually the Biden taxes will reach everyone on the income ladder.

Biden’s budget v. the House Republican budget.

A completely bureaucratic view of when patient preferences should be honored.

I could not follow the comment about the un-indexed $400,000 threshold, and how it would eventually reach everyone on the income ladder.

Today, the number of households earning over $40
is about 2% in most states, and up to 5% in the deep blue states.

It would take 15 or 20 years for new taxes to reach everyone on the income ladder.

And by that point, a likely fiscal crisis will have long since imposed new taxes on all.

For many years, our health care blog was the only free enterprise health policy blog on the internet. Then, when the NCPA closed its doors, the health blog stopped as well.

During this five-year hiatus no one else has come forward to claim the space. So, my colleagues and I have decided to restart the blog in connection with the Goodman Institute. We invite you and others to use this forum to share your views.
