I have some quibbles about the Dental Insurance article but it’s essentially correct and the reason I dropped dental insurance 20 years ago.
Why? With insurance my premium was a a lot more than the cost of regular exams. I was actually self- insuring out-of-pocket expenses above $2,000 per year. There are no high-dollar dental procedures my coverage was protecting me from. It was an easy decision to self-insure expenses below $2,000.

There are undoubtedly millions of nursing graduates who would work if working conditions were better. The problem for hospitals is that if they raise the marginal cost to attract nurses (hesitant to work) they have to give a raise to all nurses.
